Ahmed Karam
Ahmed Karam is a New York-based composer, conductor and guitarist who seeks to bridge the gap between folk music and contemporary styles. Through years of music making in local ensembles, Ahmed wrote for a wide variety of genres, including electronic dance, rock bands and singer-songwriter. Recently, Ahmed composed the music for a short film, I Love Anna, directed by Alyssa Mullings, and premiered in October, 2021 at the REEL Recovery Film Festival and Symposium in Los Angeles’s Laemle NoHo and New York’s Village East Cinema.
He is currently slated to begin his masters in Oscar Bettison’s studio at the Peabody Conservatory on a full scholarship. Ahmed has studied composition at The Juilliard School, receiving his certificate in composition from the Evening Division, while he received his bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Saint Peter’s University. He has studied at the Mostly Modern Festival, EAMA, HighScore, LAFCI, and as a bartender in the nyc nightlife - the greatest education of all!
