Paul Coleman
Paul Coleman enjoys a multi-faceted career as a composer, sound engineer, and teacher of composition, theory, and electronic music. He is a founding member and Sound Director for Ensemble Signal and has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts and at venues including Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Kennedy Center. As a performer, Paul has worked alongside fellow composers, including Steve Reich, Julia Wolfe, Helmut Lachenmann, Kaija Saariaho, and composer/Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood. Paul’s music has appeared at venues around the world, ranging from large ensembles to solo and chamber works. Some recent projects include a commission for the Eastman’s Musica Nova, solo concerts at The Stone NYC, and tours of historic carillons throughout Europe. Paul is a full-time faculty member of the State University of New York at Fredonia and part-time faculty at the Eastman School of music, where he coordinates the composition component of Eastman’s Summer Classical Studies program.
